WordPress Plugin
Card links, hover previews and price widgets for WordPress, with nothing to paste.
The Card Prices plugin turns [[Card Name]] in your posts into links to each card's price page.
Unlike the script, it checks every name against our card list and writes
the links into your page's HTML.
Install
- Download the plugin.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip and click Install Now, then Activate.
- Go to Settings → Card Prices and pick your default game.
The plugin is in review for the WordPress.org plugin directory. Once it's listed, you'll be able to install it by searching "Card Prices" in Plugins → Add New, and get updates automatically.
Writing card names
Write card names in double brackets, in any post, page or text widget:
| You write | You get |
|---|---|
[[Dark Magician]] | A link to Dark Magician in your default game |
[[pokemon:Charizard ex]] | A link to a card from another game (see game ids) |
[[Dark Magican]] (a typo) | Plain text, so you never publish a broken link |
- Names are not case sensitive, and curly quotes from the editor are fine:
[[Harpie’s Feather Duster]]works. - Text inside links,
<code>and<pre>blocks is left alone.

FAQ
Does it slow my site down? Each name is looked up once and remembered for a week. A page view checks at most 20 new names; any beyond that are linked without checking and checked on a later view. The preview script is about 4 KB gzipped and loads asynchronously.
What does it send to Card Prices? The game and card names in your posts, to check that the cards exist. Readers' browsers ask for a card's art and price when they hover a link. Nothing else, and no cookies.
I turned off hover previews. Do the links stay? Yes.
